The winners of the Mini Truckin' Magazine Scale Model Build Contests, Rounds 1, 2, and 3, competed against each other for the ultimate victory and bragging rights in this epic Winner Invite Round. Check out the build pictures below!
WINNER INVITE (3)
1. Round 1 Winner – Trent Goodwin
2. Round 2 Winner – Aaron Buck
3. Round 3 Winner - Josh Smith
Round 1 winner, Trent Goodwin, received two full pages of ink in the May 2009 issue for his 2004 Dodge Dakota and Chevy S10 Little Shop of Horros Spike Truck. These two builds put him on top of the podium and sent him straight to this Winner Invite. http://www.minitruckinweb.com/lyfestyle/0905mt_mini_truckin_scale_model_build_contest_winners/index.html
Round 2 winner, Aaron Buck, dominated the competition with his 2001 Dodge Dakota, built to resemble his real Dakota. The competition will have to really step it up to compete with his impressive paint and graphics skills. His build received a full page in the December 2009 issue - http://www.minitruckinweb.com/lyfestyle/0912mt_scale_model_build_contest_round_2_winners/index.html
Round 3 winner, Josh Smith, consistently builds unpredictably crazy and insane models. His 1991 4-Runner and 1994 GMC S-15 builds earned him the Runner-Up spot in Round 1. His 2012 mini truck build pushed him into the number 3 spot for Round 2. Lastly, his Rav-4 and Toyota pickup combo landed him in first place for Round 3. Round 3 has not run in the magazine, but you can check out his builds in the May and December magazine stories.
BUILD TIME: February 8 - May 10, 2010 (about 3 months)
BUILD RESTRICTIONS: Unlike other rounds, this time it had to be a mini truck; one (1) mini truck allowed. No multiple builds. (After all, this IS Mini Truckin', right?!) Builders were not to start until February 8th.
BUILD REQUIREMENTS: Builders started a thread in the forums, labeled like the previous rounds, but included Winner Invite. They updated us often and took plenty of high-quality photos as they went. Same procedure as previous rounds!
