No matter who you are or what kind of truck you drive, you'd probably like to have a little more get-up-and-go at your disposal. Just a few more ponies and a bit more torque so that when you mash down on the go-pedal, you actually feel something. That little bit of power can make the difference between a normal driving experience and the exciting rush you feel in the seat of your pants.
Volant air intakes can give you that same rush at a fraction of the cost of delving deep into your engine. The company's bolt-on cold-air intakes will help your engine breath easier by providing a cooler, less-restricted air inlet verses the factory airbox. We installed one of these trick intakes onto a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 and immediately mashed the go-pedal with renewed excitement.
We also went a little further on a tank of gas whenever we didn't mash the pedal to the floor. For more information on this or any of Volant's other products, contact the company using the information listed in the source box.

This easy-as-pie tech story...

This easy-as-pie tech story begins with the removal of the stock airbox. It is clamped to the mass airflow sensor with a hose clamp. We removed it with a flat-blade screwdriver.

The bottom of the airbox is...

The bottom of the airbox is secured to the truck's inner fender with a 10mm bolt. We removed this bolt with a long extension and a socket.

Once the airbox is unbolted,...

Once the airbox is unbolted, it just slides upward out of the engine compartment.

We also removed a forward...

We also removed a forward slide mount from the radiator core support. This would not be used with the Volant air intake.

The new air intake is positioned...

The new air intake is positioned in the engine compartment. Note the thick rubber seal that will positively seal the air intake to the core-support opening. This will allow fresh air to be sucked into the intake without dirt.

The mass airflow sensor is...

The mass airflow sensor is then lined up with the Volant intake.

Once again, a hose clamp is...

Once again, a hose clamp is used to secure the intake. That's all there is to it. Easy, huh?

The Volant cold-air intake...

The Volant cold-air intake made a noticeable difference in bottom-end and midrange power in our test mule S-10. We picked up a couple miles per gallon in the fuel-efficiency department as well.
