Air Tank Frame Bung
First thing's first: you need to pick up a few 3/8-inch bungs.

Air Tank Frame Mark Bung
Next, mark where you want to weld the bungs in. This is best where you want to mount your valves and compressors.
Air Tank Frame Weld Bung
Once you've decided where the bungs will go, it's as easy as drilling some holes and welding them up.
Air Tank Frame End Cap
Here's a look at a solidly capped end of the air-tank frame.
Air Tank Frame Weld Sections
Now, when you cap the frame in sections that will be the air tank, you must make sure to weld a hot, consistent bead.
Air Tank Frame Thread Fittings
Now, you can cut the bung down and thread in your fittings.
Air Tank Frame Pressure Test
Once everything is dialed in, test the frame at 200 psi and spray all of the welds with soapy water to check for leaks. If you find any small pinhole leaks, drill out some of the material and reweld.
