Something A Little Different
Chuck Ross, Jr. from Essex, Maryland, wanted to do something different when it came time for him to start working on his mini-truck. He chose a '91 Ford Ranger as the platform, and lowered it 4 inches up front using 3-inch DJM lowered I-beams and a 1-inch drop coil spring. Out back, he opted for a 4-inch DJM flip kit. After the Ranger was 4 inches lower all the way around, a set of 18x8-inch Mondera wheels was bolted up. East Coast Body Works handled the exterior work, shaving everything off: the door handles, third brake light, antenna, hood squirters, mirrors, tailgate, and roll pan. By the end of 2005, Chuck plans to have the truck fully 'bagged.
S-Noma
James from Shelby, North Carolina, has been working on his '94 S-10 for a couple of years now. After giving it a complete makeover with a Sonoma front end swap, James went all out on the rest of the truck. The 'Dime was 'bagged all the way around on a set of 18-inch Bazo wheels. The entire interior has been stripped and wrapped in tweed, and after the exterior was smoothed out, the truck got a custom paintjob: teal with silver flames. James prides himself on the completeness of his truck, and we agree. Two thumbs up!
Rollin' Dubs
In Las Vegas, it's rumored that you either go big or you go home. Since Josh Rich lives in Sin City, he decided that he had to step it up. He bought a wrecked '99 Tacoma for a great deal and began to fix it up from there. He bolted up a DJM 3/4 drop kit in combination with a set of 20-inch Niche Bellas. To update the nose, he replaced the stock grille insert with a T-Rex billet grille, and bolted on a set of 4x4 fenders. Josh plans on shaving more off, getting lower to Mother Earth, and splashing on a custom paintjob.
In the Mountains
Kane Farris lives in an area where mini-truckin' doesn't get much attention, so with the help of a few close friends, he decided to change that. This is his '92 Dodge Dakota that he bought when he was only 15. After four long years, he's about ready to start another project. This Dakota was his textbook as he got lessons on bodywork and fabrication in his own carport. He spent seven months making the body smooth as a baby's bum before he sprayed the body Pearl Green. He also 'bagged the truck himself all in the same time frame. Kane has built a truck he can be proud of and is eager to get started on his next one using all the lessons he's learned.
