Still Goin' Strong
Shawn Fogle and his family were finally reunited after Shawn had a bad wreck in his '96 Blazer and was in a coma for more than a month. Needless to say, his Blazer was totaled, but fortunately Shawn's recovered from the accident and can get on with his life, which includes getting back into mini-truckin'. Since his Blazer was rendered useless beyond repair, he has salvaged some parts from it that he'll be using on his new S-10. Shawn said he won't be able to drive until after summer, so he'll be working on his new truck until then. Shawn, from all of us here at Mini Truckin', we're so glad you're recovering and will be able to work on another truck. Send us some pics of the new ride when you get it going.
Father & Son
Like we've attested many times, there's nothing quite like building a mini-truck with your dad. Cody Johnson from Kirbyville, Missouri, knows how cool it is to have a father that's always there for help. Cody's dad continues to help him build his mini-truck and has taught him a lot over the last three years they've spent working on the '86 Chevy S-10. Together, with help from a few friends, they have 'bagged the truck, suicided the doors, shaved it up, and installed a ragtop, a Toyota front bumper with a billet grille, and the new phantom grille shell. They also completely revamped the interior with a set of Nissan Sentra bucket seats, a full Cerwin Vega audio system, and a custom-built center console, dash, and door panels.
Citrus Splash
Josh Tenny from Keene, New Hampshire, is one of those guys who just won't give up. He's so passionate about mini-trucks that after the first time his '93 Ford Ranger Splash was nearly totaled, he decided to fix it beyond the point of the previous buildup. Then, just as he seemed to be making so much progress and the truck had come farther than ever before . . . boom! He was in another accident, more devastating than the last. But as you could have guessed from the picture here, Josh didn't give up, even after a second accident. Instead he took his insurance money and did what any mini-trucker would do: He fixed his truck, then spent the extra dough modifying it and painted it a bright orange to really stand out. That's one of the greatest things about mini-truckers - they don't give up.
