In Memory Of A Good Friend
When Paul Bullis suddenly and unexpectedly passed away Father's Day weekend, in June of 2006, he left behind not only his family, but he also left behind his second love, which was his '90 Isuzu Pup. Thankfully for Paul, his friends: Matt Disimile, Lee Comegys, Matt Smith, Steve Colley, and Matt Boucher decided that they wanted to help his family out in a time of need. They realized that the best thing they could do was finish his truck, raffle it off, and set up a trust fund for Paul's two boys and baby daughter. Not only have his friends come to the family's aid, companies such as Dakota Digital, Centerline, Painless Wiring, Slam Specialties, Auto Color Paint, and Air Zenith have decided to help bring Paul's vision to a reality, and help his family out as well. The truck is scheduled to debut this year, where it will go on tour and be a part of a multi-show raffle, in which 19 finalists will compete for ownership of the truck. The truck will boast a large assortment of mods, including: body-dropped on 20-inch rims, a 50+ color paint scheme, and more body mods than most can fathom. We're sure when it's all said and done, you'll be able to see it in the pages of Mini Truckin' magazine, first, so keep an eye out for more in the future.
Havoc in the East
Sport Truck and Mini Truckin' magazines are teaming up with help from Truckin', Diesel Power & 8-Lug magazines to bring back the age-old tradition of journeying to a far-off destination in search of the fabled truck run. You remember what a truck run is, don't you? It's that place you head for when you are looking to have a good time with your truck. It's that place where you spend a few days camping out with good friends, showing off your ride, and participating in activities that real truck owners live for. Our truck event will offer: the opportunity to make passes down a quarter-mile drag strip during The Sport Truck challenge, The Mini Truckin' railin' contest, you can check out hot chicks in the Sport Truck pinup girl contest, enter the Mini Truckin' lowest truck limbo, a burn-out contest, an air-hop competition, a Vendor Village, The All-Truck Show-'n'-Shine, browse the Mini Truckin' Swap Meet, Custom Car Corral, a ton of club games on the track, and all of the excitement of a water amusement park. That's right, we said a water amusement park, with rides and other fun water attractions that'll make going to a show in August more than bearable. This is the show to plan your whole summer around. We've outgrown the convention center in Louisville, and are looking to make Havoc the biggest and best truck show in the nation by moving it to Beech Bend Park in nearby Bowling Green, Kentucky. So make plans to hang out with the editors of Sport Truck and Mini Truckin' in August, and we guarantee you'll have a good time and possibly walk away with some cash and a trophy just for building a kick-ass custom truck.
