8-Lug Diesel Truck Hits The Newsstands
Right on the heels of the Primedia Custom Truck Group's recent launch, Diesel Power, comes the brand new magazine 8-Lug Diesel Truck, aimed exclusively at the 3/4- and 1-ton truck owners who want to further refine their truck's exterior and interior appearance. In the premier issue, and all issues that will soon follow, the editors of 8-Lug Diesel Truck will take the average consumer through the most basic of modifications to the most advanced for improving their suspension, power, functionality, and towing - all with the premise of being the premier source of knowledge for Chevy, Ford, and Dodge diesel truck owners. Each issue will deal with some elements related to suspension modifications through lifting or lowering. In addition, all future issues will highlight the latest and greatest in the wheel industry for the given suspension application.
All of the stories in 8-Lug Diesel Truck are designed to be easily read and understood for the most basic do-it-yourselfer to the most prolific professional.
Be sure to check out the premier issue when it hits your local newsstands on October 9, 2006, or call (800) 777-5182 to subscribe.
As many of you know, there is a crazy sensation taking the nation in the import scene known as "drifting." If you don't know what drifting is, let us break it down for you. Basically, in order to drift, what you're doing is taking your car around a curve and driving it out of control through the turn, making it look like you're going to drive straight off the road sideways, but you're actually in complete control. Yeah...crazy...we know! Here at Mini Truckin' the only out-of-control driving we do is called dragging, which I know needs no explanation.
Mike Swartz, of Whiplash DVD fame, who is known for killer burnouts and flame-throwing Acuras, has a new project under his belt and it's a mini-truck! (Sort of.) The truck is a '92 Dodge D50 (which is a glorified Mitsubishi Mighty Max really) has been totally redone by Mike and his crew. This truck packs a 4G63 turbo engine from a '90 Eagle Talon, which produces three to four times the power of the truck's stock 2.4L engine. This isn't just a fast truck. It was built for drifting from day one. To see more about this interesting truck, go to www.thedrifttruck.com for more info and videos.
