Shows are what keep our scene alive. That’s really all there is to it. Sure, cool trucks would still get built but without that sense of community and seeing in person what your fellow minitrucker is working on the next state over, things just wouldn’t be the same. The friendly competition wouldn’t be as fierce, and let’s face it, our segment of enthusiasts thrives on after-hours communication (partying). There’s nothing wrong with cutting loose a little bit; in fact, I think everyone would agree that’s what makes us such a close-knit group. So to recognize and honor this fact, our team of staffers and contributing editors came together to select our favorite shows of the year as well as the best truck builds debuted over the last 12 months. On top of that, we also scrutinized the clubs who were on the move in 2011. It was definitely a great year to be minitruckin’.
Speaking of our Best-of voting, the guys at Fuel Mrkt (www.fuelmrkt.com) were kind enough to donate their time by creating a Mini Truckin’-exclusive poster for our readers that features the top three cover trucks as voted by our staff and our team of hard-working freelancers. Congratulations to Kevin Rost, Patrick Rios, and Uncle Fester and everyone who played a part in getting these critically acclaimed builds ready for our pages.
And on a side note, it sounds like our new paper quality has been a big hit amongst our readers. It’s something that we’ve wanted to do for some time now. The photos are jumping right off the page now, and the colors appear truer than on the toilet paper we were printing on before. We’ve actually been calling this new phenomenon MT HD around the office.
