This month I have some sad, scary, yet exciting news to share with everyone. I know it's quite a lot to lay on you all in one month, but have no fear; all is well in MT land.
Well, let's just get right to the point, no need to beat around the bush. Unfortunately we had to cut staff here at the office which leaves me all by my lonesome on the editorial side here at MT headquarters. But this also brings with it some exciting new possibilities as we will now be focused on creating a "dream team" of freelance staff writers and photographers who can be out in the field all the time capturing the best and brightest minitruckin' moments for us all to enjoy.
First i want to start by giving credit where credit is due. The rest of our production staff (including our art director and managing editor) along with all of our valuable freelancers rarely get the recognition they deserve so I wanted to take a moment and thank every single person who's ever contributed a photo, written a story, or helped out in any way for their time and effort in helping make this magazine the best that it can be. There are hundreds of events, trucks, cruise nights, gatherings, and conventions and it would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to cover them all and still put out this magazine and meet our crazy deadlines every single month. So you might be asking, what does this mean for you, our valued and dedicated reader? First things first, it means change. We will be using some of the best and most gifted people from the scene to help us compile a magazine that we can all be proud of every month. What I want from you guys is for you to take note of the byline (the credits that list the writer and photographer) listed on each story and pay attention to the names that are listed. If you really like a particular story or particular photo, drop us a line at mini.truckin@sorc.com and let us know the story, issue, page numbers and what you liked about it. If you'd like to see more of a certain thing, or less of something, please also send us emails with your comments and suggestions. As always, this magazine IS THE ONLY magazine on the shelves solely dedicated to minitruckers, the rides they build, the shows they attend, and the people that make it all happen. We want to continue to offer you the best coverage out there so be on the lookout for all of our new department editors.
Beginning with this issue we will be having new faces and talents help us create a one-off-a-kind experience from the first page to the last. This issue we would like to introduce our new Lyfestyle Editor, Ben Da Pirate. Please welcome him the way you would any of our staff editors-with a beer in hand. Don't be afraid to email him and let him know what you'd like to see in our exclusive Lyfestyle section.
