Hello, and welcome to another jamb-packed, exciting edition of The Hot Seat. In case you missed last month's story, each month we take a person that has been a vital part, a mentor, or made some significant impact in the scene, and expose him or her and make them blush for your reading enjoyment.

So sit back, light a match, do a courtesy flush, and enjoy this month's installment.

Do you have an idea of someone you want to see in The Hot Seat? Then send an e-mail to hotwheelbabie@aol.com with your suggestions, questions, or comments and maybe your favorite will be our next victim!

This month, we bring you Oliver Porter of Domination the Video, if you don't know him yet, you're about to know all!

The Basics
Full Name: Oliver Porter
Age: 24
Place of birth: Phoenix, Arizona
Current residence: Chandler, Arizona
Who are you: Oliver Porter, ownerDomination The Video, and I have a video camera permanently attached to my hand.
What's your daily driver: '92 Honda Civic hatchback, aka "the egg" (you might laugh, but I'm getting 35 mpg)

Q. What is in your toilet tower/lavatory library? Be honest, not the obvious ones like Mini Truckin', we want to know about the US Weekly, the Better Homes & Gardens and the luscious, large woman mags.

A. Toilet tower? I've never even heard of such a thing! Well, if you want to know what I read when I'm on the crapper, it's usually Mike Alexander's editorial!

Q. Tell us one thing people either don't know about you or would be very surprised to hear?

A. I was a full-time college student while I filmed and produced the first five Domination DVDs. I started a mobile D.J. company when I was 15, and I quit smoking in April!

Q. Do you have any tattoos you regret? If so, what is it, why do you regret it, and can we see it?

A. I have some tattoos but I haven't gotten anything I regret yet.

Q. Do you consider yourself "regular?"

A. Wow, regular is such an ugly word. I'd prefer if you didn't disgrace my character that way in front of my friends and the readers of this fine publication. Please don't cancel my subscription based on my answers to these questions. Thanks.

Q. Settle this one once and for all: bros or hoes?

A. These two words should be removed from the English language altogether ... Wait, are these actually even words in the English language? I'm going to check my Webster.

Q. Which would win in a cage fight, a taco or a grilled cheese sandwich?

A. Grilled cheese all the way! Go America!

Q. What is your favorite show of all time?

A. I'm going to have to go with "Saved By the Bell" as the best show of all time. But right now, I've been hooked on "Deadliest Catch" and "The Office."

(Ummm, we meant car show, but this answer was too golden to omit!)

Q. What got you into the scene?

A. During my high school years, my best friend dropped me on the doorstep of "the scene" and I just sort of wandered my way in.

Q. What is your personal opinion on the current state of the scene, since the loss of so many shows lately? Why do you think that is, and can it be repaired?

A. Well, it's based on the state of the economy, the cost of gas, and the rising prices of everything under the sun, all of which I believe to be a huge contribution to the suffering of the scene. A lot of time and money goes into holding a show, so I understand that we're going to lose a few shows here and there throughout the year. It's unfortunate we lost shows like Drop Zone and Midwest Dragfest (just to name a few) in '08. But there are still a lot of killer shows going on throughout the year. Even though times are hard, I hope to see everyone come out to shows, keep working on their rides, and continue to support the community throughout this hard time. Oliver for President!

(You are going to have to wrestle Phil Fowler for that one ... we'll buy the beer, though!)

Q. OK, we all want to know, once and for all, who is your hairstylist?

A. If you guys couldn't tell, I actually don't see a hairstylist very often.

Q. Do you have a home or are you just a show gypsy?

A. There have been a few times during the show season, when I spent at the most 18 consecutive weekends out on the road and going to shows filming. It actually did feel like I didn't have a home. But yes, I do have a home here in Chandler, Arizona.

Q. What gave you the idea to start doing Domination the Video? How many videos do you guys have out now?

A. I've always been into photography. Even before the DVDs, I spent a lot of time traveling around the country taking my truck to shows. I didn't really film anything before Domination, so I just jumped in headfirst! There are six titles out right now, with many more to come.

Q. Tell us about the Mike Jones' video? Whose idea was it? It's classic!

A. It was just a crazy idea me and a good friend of mine, Zach, came up with. He also edited the video. I picked that Mike Jones song because, at that time, it seemed like it was set on repeat in every vehicle at every show I went to. Most people who know me well know I don't really listen to that kind of music, so the music video was made entirely as a joke. I never thought it would become as popular as it did. It almost didn't even make the final cut for the DVD!

Q. What is next for the Domination family? Anything in the works you might not want leaked out? We won't tell anyone!

A. Well, I definitely don't want anyone to know about the Domination project Tacoma, which is in the shop and on its way to completion! (Sigh.) Finally! But since it's you guys, I trust you won't tell anyone. I've had a '53 Chevy pickup since before I ever owned a mini and it's been sitting in the corner collecting dust for nine years. Let's just say, it's not sitting in the corner anymore.

Q. In your quest for world domination, what seems to cost you more per year: airline tickets, hotels, food, or beer?

A. All of the above! It costs a lot of money to make the DVDs. I definitely don't rake in the cash like some people might think. I enjoy making Domination DVDs, and I will continue to try my hardest to produce a good quality product for the community. The more people support Domination and buy the DVDs, the more new DVDs I can get out there and make!

Q. Do you have any shameless plugs you would like to add?

A. I thought you'd never ask! I'm still hitting shows throughout the season, getting the rest of the footage I needed to wrap up the next DVD, titled Run For Cover. I should have a release date later this summer, and more than likely some new shirt designs. I ship anywhere in the world and you can order at dominationthevideo.com.
