Wow! What can I say? I didn't think I would be writing this article for another couple of years, but the time has come. It's official: We hired a new associate editor, and yours truly has been given the reins of Mini Truckin' magazine. This issue marks a brand-new chapter in the MT Bible. That's right, fresh blood - so go easy on us!

Over the past couple of years, I have had the pleasure of soaking up all kinds of wisdom, suggestions, and industry skills from numerous editors on many different magazine titles (including our previous editor). I have learned more than you could ever imagine from listening to you, our readers, and just taking the time to hang out and chat about trucks, the magazine, and our lifestyle in general. For this very reason I knew it would be imperative that we hire another associate editor who can remain as accessible as I have been, and someone who is truly a hard-core mini-truck enthusiast. After going through the applications, it was an awesome surprise to see Chad Lucas' name pop into the mix.

If that name sounds familiar, that's because Chad is the proud owner of the body-dropped and blown Nissan Pathfinder on the cover of our Nov. '03 issue. Yes, we know exactly what you're thinking, and you're right. With Chad and I working on the same magazine month after month, you better believe that it's on! We have so many ideas bouncing back and forth between the two of us right now, it's ridiculous. We hope you're ready for the best hard-core mini-truck coverage you could ever fathom. This year we are really going to take it to a whole new level: more hard-core tech, more hard-core lifestyle, more draggin', more badass feature and cover trucks, more hard-core under-construction trucks, more hard-core everything. Did I mention much more hard-core mini-truckin'?

There isn't a better word to describe the future direction of the magazine than "hard-core." We are going to pour every ounce of energy we have over the next few months into creating and fine-tuning the only magazine on the planet solely dedicated to mini-truckers. Who needs sleep, right? Look for us to be at more shows than any other magazine nationwide. If there's draggin', we're there. If there's partying, we're there. If there's mini-trucks, we're definitely there. We are going to bring you this lifestyle like you've been begging for - raw mini-truck action 24/7. Don't worry, we obviously can't do anything stupid to get kicked off the newsstands or you wouldn't be able to find us anywhere, and of course we will still cater to all readers from the beginner to the most advanced shop owner. But mark my words, the best is definitely yet to come.

Since I am and always have been Mike "The Mini-Trucker" before I'm Mike "From Mini Truckin'" let me be the first to say that we value your opinions and suggestions. We want to make this the best mini-truck magazine that we ourselves would want to read, so keep the letters and suggestions coming. Your support has meant the world to me and I couldn't have gotten this far without each and everyone of you. It never has been about one editor or another. It's you who give this magazine and this lifestyle the edge. It's you who continue to push the limits of customizing each and every day. It's you who support the scene and keep it alive and strong. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. We look forward to bringing you the future of Mini Truckin'. Please drag thru!
