This Toyota belongs to Will Plummer, the godfather of IV Ever Low. His truck has been completed since '01 and has been shot a handful of times since then, but this is its first magazine appearance aside from a few brief show coverage cameos in print and online throughout the years.

A lot of work has gone into this build, but there is even more history behind its evolution. Back in '94 when Will was living in Arizona, he was taken to the home of Shaun Carlson, a former MT editor, who was then in the process of building his Wood Runner. Will remembers that day clearly, "At that time, the truck didn't drive, wasn't bodydropped, wasn't on air, and it was painted one solid color. I just had to have my 4Runner after seeing Shaun's."

The next year, Will moved north to take care of his father in Idaho. While there, he bought his dad's '94 Toyota pickup that only had 4,000 miles on the odometer. Wasting no time, Will started cutting into his new ride and had it featured in MT's Construction Zone back in '00. Shortly after the shoot, Will decided that he needed way more space than what the pickup had to offer, so he started scouting for a 4Runner body to use in the cab's place. The transformation began, and the new body was attached to the old frame. "All the work was done at the house I was born at," says Will, "The first year, it was just painted flat black and everything was converted to 4Runner stuff except for the rear bumper. The next year, I saved up some cash and had it painted."

Even though Will's been patiently awaiting a full feature, he's still as excited as he's ever been about it. "Plan your work and work your plan," says Will, and we bet that he's picked up many more pearls of wisdom such as this throughout the years. "I've been into minitrucks for about 23 years now. When I first started this build I was going to school for machining and working full-time. Building the truck of my dreams was something that I was working so hard toward achieving."
