Not everyone has the luxury of living in sunny Southern California, which is the birthplace of minitrucks and Mini Truckin' magazine. Many of you grew up in small towns all across the U.S., some in far-off countries. But no matter where you grew up, we have a common bond: love and appreciation for all things minitruck.
For Ian Moore, this is an obsession that started back in '91, when his dad gave him a Datsun 620. If you know your history of minitrucks, the Datsun is pretty much where it all began.
Over the years, Ian picked up several Datsuns and built them as well as he could. Living in a place like Colorado, where minitrucks are particularly rare, you would think it would be hard for somebody to stay motivated. Not for Ian, he has been an avid reader of the magazine for years.
"Even before the internet, I was always in the know," Ian said. Having a handful of friends who were also interested in the scene definitely helped him along, too.
Now having his Toyota standing out in the crowd, maybe he can bring more of an interest in his area. As long as we have people like Ian involved in our sport, perhaps minitrucks won't be a thing of the past. Maybe they'll stick around for many years to come.
