Mooneyes has had a huge impact on the entire automotive culture over the last few decades and they continue to keep the custom culture alive both here in the states and abroad.

Here in the US, the custom automotive culture spawned in sunny Southern California and quickly spread throughout the country. This custom crowd multiplied and many brands and companies have come and gone throughout the decades. As spread out and saturated as the automotive industry may seem, Mooneyes still plays a vital role in the custom community and has upheld the traditions of years past.

Akihiro Misono from Narita city, Japan wanted to honor the vital role that Mooneyes has played in the automotive industry. So "Chef" built this 1977 Datsun 620 using mostly Mooneyes parts to be the minitruck that he knew they would build. Misono was the head Chef at Mooneyes Café for years and has always been into both American food, and American style customs. So beginning with a very classy and simple custom theme, Misono ended up building himself one cool cruiser with the taste and style of a pro!

Sticking to the plan of using mostly Mooneyes parts, and keeping a simple and clean custom theme, Misono opted to stick to the basics. A super slammed stance, a clean and light single color, an old school interior, and Mooneyes wheels, complete the perfect tribute to the automotive custom culture that Mooneyes has continued to support through the years. Both Misono and Mini Truckin' magazine would like to thank Shige Suganuma, president of Mooneyes U.S.A. and Mooneyes Japan for keeping the dream alive for generations to come.
