Every once in awhile, we come across a truck that is the first of its kind, and we absolutely love it! And we're not talking about U.F.O. unqiue, because let's face the facts, there's probably a reason that no one ever molded the taillights of a Gremlin into the side pillars of an S-10!
No, we're talking about being the first to accomplish such a noteworthy task as this Ranger that sits before you. Jevon Hebert of Newman, Georgia is the first person to body-drop, and drive a new body Ranger on 22s. That alone is quite a feat, but Jevon one-upped the competition and decided that he would build his truck not only to rake in the trophies, but also to actually drive. That doesn't mean that it will never see any trailer time to some far off shows, but that does mean that if possible, this Ranger would rather battle the mean streets and give it's owner and builder some much deserved respect in the process, even if it does get a rock chip or two.
When it came to the task of 'bagging and body-dropping this Ranger, Jevon knew what it would take and decided to tackle the chore himself. "If you want something done right, do it yourself" said Jevon, right before cutting into his '00 Ford Ranger. This was quickly followed by "Ah S@#$, what did I get myself into!" Haha, we jest, he didn't say that last part, but he probably thought it out loud quite a few times over the three years that he spent building this work of art from the ground up.
With a handful of close friends, including David Dennis who helped him throughout the build, and Chase Shiver who sprayed the Sikkens Sonic Blue, Jevon spent countless hours cutting, welding, and grinding his way to perfection. The end result truly speaks for itself, as not many homebuilt rides see completion, much less the cover of a magazine. As we give major props, where props are due, Jevon built and drove his way onto the cover of this special issue, congrats! We're sure we'll see more from his camp in the near future.
