You've seen this truck before. Maybe not exactly like this, but if you've been around the minitruck scene for any length of time, then you've heard about Jason Ballard's '94 S-10. Sure, you didn't know his name, and maybe you just remembered that wicked blue frame sitting on Colorado Customs wheels, but you know this truck. And if you don't yet, you're about to get the inside scoop.

The story of this mafia-themed Dime doesn't start at a waste management facility somewhere in New Jersey, but in Land O' Lakes, Florida (seriously, that's the name of the city). The progression from a daily driver to show custom took the same steps as we all go through; first with a little static drop, then ‘bags, and a bodydrop down the road. But eventually, Jason hit a stopping point and the truck sat in a carport for a bit, just waiting for its time to shine.

Meanwhile, Jason was connecting with his buddy Jimmy Graham of Jimmy's Rod & Customs. After the two talked it out for quite a long time, a plan was hatched to create an amazing frame and mount a beautiful body on top of it. Once the old chassis was cut up and thrown in the trash, Jimmy started the journey with a cab, bedsides and a pair of spindles—that's it.

The frame itself deserves its own feature—it's THAT detailed. From the meticulously assembled engine with the custom ST diamond bolt covers to the tapped and bolted valves and airlines on the frame, this chassis is simply top-notch. Smoothed, painted, and everything in between. That's probably how you first saw this truck, and what's been burned into your memory.

But then they moved on to the body, and it's a doozy. While there are tons of mods, this truck doesn't have much in the way of traditional bolt-ons. For example, while some would've been satisfied with bolting on a GMC Envoy front clip and going about their day, Jason had a one-off bumper and grille built and molded together into one seamless piece. There are no mirrors to speak of, and every other accessory was removed, smoothed up, and shaved completely from the truck. Everything is custom—just in case you hadn't gathered that already.

As for the interior? This is where the mafia theme starts to come together. The entire inside of the truck is done in the same materials you'd find on a fine piece of luggage, right down to the studs and handles. And on the seats, those metal studs are ST diamonds, just to show a little love to the club. There's a humidor in the center console to hold every mafia boss's favorite smokey treat, and the boxes behind the seat for the sub and amps are wrapped and designed to look just like a piece of quality travel gear. The ultimate touch, however, is the tumbler locks on the center console covers. Those are straight from a piece of luggage, no joke.

It's hard not to talk about this truck without using hyperboles, but then again, it does defy belief. Jason spent years on this S-10, sweating every single detail in the process, and the result is a truck worthy of the MT cover. But what about his competition? Just like anyone who messes with a true gangster, they're all swimming with the fishes.
