According to American baseball stats, only three players in Major League Baseball history have hit a grand slam in their first at bat.
Well, Zach Lock, of Virginia Beach, has added his name to the list of first-time minitruck builders who have knocked one out of the park with bases loaded on his very first swing in the minitruck major leagues.
Zach has fooled around with other projects, like his crotch rocket and...dare I say...an import car. And just like Zach did, his S-10 started out in a different direction. It started in New Jersey, then made a short stop in Mississippi before it finally landed in a custom shop in Texas where Zach found it. He is the first to admit that he really lucked out and got a good deal when he found this project in the works. But, it was still pretty rough. It needed a lot of finish and detail work and a builder with a complete vision. Even though Zach didn't build every inch of this truck, he has had every nut and bolt off of it with his own two hands and has the photos to prove it!
Also, without even thinking about it, Zach had painted his truck the colors of the car audio company, Audiobahn. They were so impressed with his truck that they gave him a full sponsorship and featured his truck at the Spring Break Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. Not only did he get to escape the Northeast winter at this show, but we were lucky enough to corner him and shoot some pictures for this feature. When asked what he had planned for next time around, Zach said he was going to fine tune this build by working on some rough edges before he thought about his next project.
Well, we don't know how he plans on topping a grand slam, but we have a feeling from the looks of his first build that we will definitely be there to find out. For all the details and information scope out the Lowdown.
