Curtis Canton of Christiansted, St. Croix, Virgin Islands, is a classic example of tried and true minitruckin'.

We hear the word "sport" applied to our lifestyle quite often, but sometimes that can be confusing, as we really aren't playing a game. Curtis attended NOPI Nats back in the day with some of his buddies and he was instantly hooked to this "sport" known as minitruckin'.

Back in '02, he purchased an unscathed '99 Chevy Blazer, and right away hooked up with one of his good friends Alvin Lawrence. Curtis knew that with Alvin at his side his truck would be built right the first time around. First thing the duo tackled was the suspension. Utilizing Slam Specialties 'bags along with DJM components, bringing the trucks stance down a little lower.

Mike's Electronics was called upon to deliver Curtis's ultimate wish, an amazing audio/video set up. Curtis knew exactly what he wanted as his passion is his music. Once again, Alvin helped install what could be called a dream system when it comes to stereos. Can you say JL Audio? Curtis did, and just like that, a plethora of JL equipment rocks this Blazer like no other. A JVC in-dash DVD sends all the right signals to the speakers as well as the Sound Stream monitors.

Once again, Alvin was summoned to help complete the one-of-a-kind interior. With fiberglass and suede throughout, along with a custom center console splitting the truck down the middle, this interior is first class. All the panels are either smoothed or wrapped to color match the paintjob on the outside. Anthony Rhodes from R.A.W. in Sandford, Florida performed some of his artwork on the exterior. Leaving the factory blue on top, Anthony laid down a custom blend of silver and black liquid, accented with a Porsche red pinstripe for the break.

Curtis truly built this truck with the motivation and help of the minitruck lifestyle of family and friends. He knows without those two factors he would have never been able to put his truck in a container and deliver it to the mainland with pride.
