Some things will always be cool: minitrucks, hot women, hanging out with friends, wrenching on your truck; these things never get old. In reality, these make up our everyday minitrucker lives. We know what we love, and judging by the appearance of most of our rides, we tend to indulge in what we enjoy.

Naturally, when it comes to our trucks, certain elements of what we love always seem to find a way to influence the final products. For example, take J.D. Scott's slammed '95 Chevy Blazer. Despite buying the Blazer as his first vehicle, his first love has always been the '64 Chevy Impala SS. Ever since J.D. picked up his first Lowrider magazine, J.D. just hasn't been able to get the American classic style out of his head.

Jump ahead to late 2004, when J.D. decided to get down and dirty with his '95 Blazer. Inspired by his Lowrider and Mini Truckin' past, J.D. took the plunge and said goodbye to everything except the front clip. Instead, a new frame was constructed from the firewall back, made out of 3-inch tubing. Although the first go-around featured air, this time J.D opted to ride with Pro Hopper hydraulics, complete with two pumps and stainless hardlines. A set of 22x9-inch MOB Cappos, a little powdercoat, and paint finished off the new chassis with a show-winning finish.

To complement the new chassis, a new drivetrain was assembled in the form of a Chevy 350 mated with a Turbo 350 tranny. An '89 Corvette IRS gave the rear wheels a little lean, while front and rear disc brakes gave this beast plenty of stopping power. With the drivetrain finished, J.D. proceeded to shave everything within sight before handing the mini over to Lost Cause in Sparta, Tennessee, for the custom two-tone PPG Baby Blue and White spraypaint job.

With the truck coming together, J.D. and his friend, Rob from RNL Customs, whipped up the perfect interior. Finding a '64 Impala SS behind Rob's shop, the two proceeded to borrow the entire interior from the old Chevy. Everything from the seats, dash, and interior trim pieces are all original '64 Impala pieces. To really give the Blazer a classy finishing touch, the silver pinstriping was added to the body to replicate the original '64 Impala SS chrome trim.

In just two and a half years, J.D. has managed to combine two tongue-drooling styles into one body-draggin' classic SUV. With everything worked out and his new suspension ready to rock, expect to see this neck-breaker on the road and rollin' into a show near you.
