Imagine getting hit by a drunk driver, then while at the hospital, somebody breaks into your truck. This is the kind of crap that Cody had to deal with while building his mini on the road to what you see today. Getting to this point meant overcoming a few other obstacles along the way, as well. But it didn't stop Cody. With the help of friends and family and a few shops, he knew the end result would be worth the wait.
Cody had been interested in minitrucks for a few years now, thanks to his brother, who helped him lower a truck back in '97. After that moment, Cody became an S-10 fanatic, and in the years that followed, he owned several S-10s, including an '89 S-15 and a '95 S-10. "They weren't crazy or anything, they were lowered and nice daily drivers," said Cody. But his love for S-10s and minitrucks would lead him to purchase a newer model S-10 in July of 2000. Which was when Cody bought his '98 Chevy S-10 that would become his show truck. It would be a slow process, but one Cody was willing to battle.
After only two months of ownership, Cody contacted the guys down at Drastik Creations, who brought the truck closer to the ground by adding some much-needed air bags. Soon after that, the truck was shaved and painted red. But, like his hometown of Beaumont Texas, which has had its fair share of bad luck over the years from Hurricanes, Cody would also run into some bad luck in the shape of a head-on collision that would nearly destroy his truck. However, instead of letting this stop him, it led to a rebirth and a new look. This time around, Red and Silver two tone was the calling. After a bit of this, Cody decided to step up his game. After he had the crew at Erratic Trends body-drop the truck, it was taken to Full Blown Paint where Cody gave them a basic idea and let them go to town on the truck. The end result gave us this full-blown wonder of a truck, and a hell of a story, too.
