How many of us have bought a truck with the hope of keeping it simple and stock? Ahh, to own a nice daily driver or no-frills work truck that could be used for everyday duties would be a luxury that only few of us could know. How long does that seem to last? One, maybe two weeks? For Jonathan Goolsby, there were plenty of excuses to lay out his truck. As owner of Goolsby Customs and Collision City, Jonathan had certain luxuries that none of us would take for granted.

Originally Jonathan's Sonoma was supposed to be a truck used exclusively for work and no play. When an excuse such as "My truck is too high to unload my lumber" comes up, the inevitable will happen-asphalt and road dots are in your immediate future. As a shop truck dubbed to be the parts carrier, having a safe and secure location is imperative. This being the case, the rear end was molded shut so as not to let anything unknowingly slip out of the back.

The attention to detail on the door jambs on this truck is impeccable. The graphics and pinstriping flow effortlessly through jambs, hinges, and bends without a break in stride. Paint being one of the main staples of his place of business, no excuses were made. Details such as continuing the graphics onto the door hinges were a must when showing how hardcore Jonathan's shop is.

First seeing it at Havoc '05 in Louisville had all of us talking. The bright Inca Gold flames with contrasting black really make for an awe-inspiring view in person. We couldn't think of a better presentation to grab custom paint business. Flames are timeless and there is no shortage of heat on Jonathan's Sonoma. We can't wait to see Goolsby's next shop beater.
