If you haven't seen Visalia, California, resident Lonny Collins' disgustingly immaculate '87 S-10 Blazer in person, then you're missing out. The ultra-clean, simplistic approach to Lonny's ride is what sets it apart from the rest. Do you ever wonder why a vehicle that's so much simpler looks so much better than a crazy ride? You can't pinpoint it exactly, but for some reason the quality of the ride exudes its own aura.
Lonny's Blazer is a shining example of this: Clean and simple two-tone paint, an ultra-clean interior, a slammed stance, and the absence of a hack job are all the truck needs to clown the competition. We have gawked at Lonny's ride for some time at local shows and we were finally lucky enough to put it in our pages.
It took the better part of 18 years for the Blazer to get to its current state. That's right, fresh off the dealer's lot! If persistence isn't the first thing in your mind at this moment, then I'm sure "holy crap" is. Do you remember what you were doing 15 years ago? I'm fairly certain I was popping zits and playing tetherball at the local Y. The stack of money thrown at Blazin' Perfection is enough to rival that of the finest luxury cars. We're willing to bet Lonny's ride gets a few more looks on the local highway than the average Mercedes on dubs, though.
It's people like Lonny who are glowing examples of how big the payoff is when you don't give up on your dreams. Mad props to Lonny on building one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest, Blazer on the West Coast, and also on keeping with the quality of the amazing number rides coming out of California's Central Valley. Keep an eye out for Lonny's son Garrett to be clownin' the streets of Visalia soon, as he has followed in his father's footsteps and is building his own sic mini.
