Owner: Amanda Powell
Ride: '91 Chevrolet Blazer
Hometown: Lanesville, Indiana
Kicking guys' asses in the thrill of competition has always been Amanda Powell of Lanesville, Indiana's specialty. Back in the day, Amanda would drag-race and hand the guys their shorts every time. The jealousy didn't stop there, though. Amanda's daily driven '91 Blazer had its fair share of modifications, too. Guys could hardly believe that a girl owned this ride. Knowing Amanda and her competitive spirit, this still wasn't good enough.
In a series of events, Amanda's cousin bought her a roll pan for her daily driver. This would seem like a simple mod to most, but not the way Amanda looked at it. She kicked tail on the track and made men cook dinner and do the laundry for her before, so why not put their balls in her purse on the showfield, too?
With Amanda's mind made up, there's nothing in the world that would stop her. A trip to the local frame-draggers association consisting of Steve Broadus and Cool Cars was made to lay out the S-series on a sweet airbag suspension. Some chrome 18-inch Veloche jewelry was applied to the corners for decoration, and Sir Michaels products smooth out the rear.
To make sure the Testosterone Slayer doesn't go unnoticed, colors as bright as the sun were applied. Sikkens Sunburst Yellow and Hot Rod Orange make Amanda's ride bright enough to require SPF 50 when approaching. Aaron Glaser of Louisville, Kentucky, gets credit for laying down the paint and graphics we hope you can still see.
Amanda's competitive spirit is the same thing that drives mini-truckin' farther up the food chain. We applaud the ladies of mini-truckin' - we just wish they wouldn't have to beat us down to prove a point.
