Robert Hallman from Hampton, Georgia, bought a brand-new S-10 Xtreme off the lot at the end of 1999, but nobody could imagine how far he planned to take the buildup. He knew he wanted a sick truck and told a few of his close buddies some of his plans, but not even Robert imagined the extent to which he would end up modifying what once was an S-10 with ground effects.
After mobbing the Xtreme around town for a while in stock form, Robert quickly began to itch for something more personalized, something that would show everyone how dedicated he was to the mini-truck lifestyle. Something that screamed, "Drag me, drag me!" Robert knew Jodi Wilkerson from Twisted Metal Fabrications in Jonesboro, Georgia, and trusted him to go all-out on his ride and create something that Robert could only dream of.
First things first: Twisted Metal got down to business by cutting up the suspension to allow for a full air-suspension setup with an Ekstensive Metalworks two-link and Firestone airbags. With the suspension reworked to lay the frame on the ground, the stock plastics were definitely ready to be abrasively removed via the highway. We're sure everybody loves to drag, but there's just something twisted about draggin' the plastic off your stock truck. Damn it - we love it. Even with the ground effects permanently removed, there was still another 3-1/2 inches between the body and pavement. Therefore, the Sawzall got to see plenty of action, and the gap was soon taken care of with a 3-1/2-inch traditional body drop.
With the truck's stance much more respectable and ground effects a thing of the past, it was time to finish up what they'd started by smoothing out the exterior and prepping the truck for a wild paintjob. The Twisted Metal crew shaved the entire bed, door handles, tailgate, and taillights, and handed the truck off to Sean Burnley at Bodyshot. Anyone who's been around for a few years knows Sean's name from Assorted Miniatures and the crazy Greenville show it puts on every year called Showfest. Well, not only do Sean and his Assorted boys know how to throw a dope show, but Sean is also a talented painter and artist. He laid down the killer graphic scheme and spent hour after hour detailing every single airbrushed line to the T.
With such a low stance and wild paintjob, there was no stopping Robert. He continued the detail into the interior and engine bay. Both were detailed with billet accessories, matching painted parts, and coordinated schemes to complete the package. With only a year and a half in buildup time, Robert's massively modified Xtreme now looked like a body-dropped Stepside. No one could ever tell that less than two years earlier, it was one very stock Xtreme. For all the specific details, check out the lowdown.

Miscellaneous This truck represents Robert's life story. He has pictures of his daughter in it and other things that all bring back memories of the best times he can remember.
