Jackson Collins, a sergeant of the Marine Corps, is 26 years old and has been serving for seven years. He's currently serving a one-year tour in Iraq and is from Garden City, KS. When he wrote, in all good conscience we couldn't throw his pic in "Paper Cuts." He owns a bagged '95 Mitsu with a four-link, with a Rockford BD1000 amp that powers four Fosgate 12-inchers, and he plans on body-dropping it and suiciding the doors himself. Time is an issue when the safety of our country is on the line. His girlfriend, Libby, just sent him the January '06 issue, which features Shawn Arcidino's P-51 Mazda dubbed Plane Jane. He wanted to send big thanks out to Shawn for the truck and the appreciation for the troops. He just wanted to let everyone know how much they appreciate people like him. Jackson sent us a pic of himself with some of the other Marines, who also appreciate what Shawn has done for them. He also sends a shout-out to all reading. Long live mini-truckers!
Toyota Poised to Take OverIndustry experts praise the company's efficiency, flexibility, quality control, and most importantly, foresight. Toyota was on a secret mission to "come up with a whole new car for the 21st century." Toyota Motor Corp's top management had read the wind. Believing that higher oil prices and the rise of eco-conscious consumers would spark surging demand for super-efficient autos, they ordered up what would become the prototype for the Toyota Prius. The Prius defied industry naysayers by becoming one of Toyota's hottest new models. Eager clients in the United States are still waiting two months or more for delivery as the futuristic hybrids roll off the assembly lines as fast as Toyota can make them. Analysts say the foresight and planning that went into the development of the world's first mass-produced hybrid underscore how Toyota has managed to leave the struggling U.S. automakers in the dust - and why it is likely to stay ahead for years to come. Toyota is poised to overtake ailing General Motors this year as the world's largest automaker in terms of units sold. It is a title, industry experts say, that the 69-year-old company could win through a combination of efficiency, flexibility, quality control, and most importantly, an uncanny sixth sense for what consumers want.

GM is banking on new models to fend off Toyota from taking worldwide supremacy. They say they won't yield their sales crown to the fast-growing Japanese juggernaut.
