When Geoff first tore into his truck a few years ago, he knew he wanted it to be different. The first thing Geoff did was get rid of all door handles, the antenna, the gas door, and even the tailgate. He even ditched the sideview mirrors and swapped out the stock front fenders for a set of 4x4 fenders. The front bumper and valance were then welded together and smoothed, while the 2 1/4-inch Showdown Accessories cowl-induction hood, H4 diamond-cut headlights, and 11-bar billet grille were bolted up to complete the front end modifications. Out back, a tailgate skin was added and the stock taillights were shaved. Aftermarket clear taillights were put behind slots in the bottom of the rear skin. The inside of the bed was smoothed and all of the corners were radiused, while a set of trailer fenders covers the rear wheels. A 10-gallon fuel cell was also flushed in the bed floor.
After Geoff finished the bodywork, it was time to decide on a paint scheme. Since one style of custom paint wouldn't make him happy, he decided to do several different styles. The hard part was to decided what colors to use. He chose Viper Blue, Burnt Orange, yellow, purple, and Baby Blue and Lime Green by R&M Diamont. The bulk of the truck is the Viper Blue, while the Burnt Orange covers most of the passenger side. Lime Green and yellow tribals with a few flames and airbrushed designs cover the passenger side, while the driver side is covered in purple and Baby Blue flames. Everything has been pinstriped with hot pink, blue, neon green, purple, and silver. All of the flames, tribals, and graphics run throughout the doorjambs as well. With color combinations like that, no two sections of the truck are alike. If you looked at one side of the truck and passed it again looking at the other side, you would think it was two different trucks - which is exactly the look Geoff was going for. Geoff did all of the paint and bodywork in his own garage.
With the exterior done, it was time to tear into the suspension. Knowing that the final goal was a 3 1/4-inch body drop, Geoff first had to get the framework done before he could cut the floor to drop the body. A set of airbags was bolted up at all four corners while a Pete & Jakes four-link was painted and added to the already silver rear frame clip and 6-inch notch. The axle and driveshaft were also painted blue to match the truck and to tie the framework into the color scheme. The battery was relocated under the bed while the framework was being performed. When it was time to set the highly modified body and custom framework on the ground to check out the rocker-draggin' stance, a set of 18-inch KMC Units wrapped in 215/35ZR18 Hankook Ventus rubber first had to be mounted at all four corners.
For the interior, Geoff went with a light- and dark-gray tweed combination, along with some paintwork. The dash was pulled out, shaved of all the HVAC vents, and smoothed before the Viper Blue paint was sprayed on, along with the custom built center console. Tweed covers the rest of the interior, including the Honda Prelude bucket seats with shaved headrests. A set of Corbeau racing harnesses ensures you stay put in your seat while railing the truck down the highway. The headliner received raised flame graphics before more tweed was glued down. A to Z Upholstery in Willards, Maryland, handled all of the stitch work in Geoff's truck. The final addition to the interior cabin was a Colorado Customs Fire billet steering wheel.
With a truck as different from side to side as it is from every other truck in the show scene, its no wonder Geoff keeps taking home top awards at every show he attends.
