After being involved with custom trucks for more than a decade and building up two previous customs, Alan "Farva" Jackson decided to go a little more mainstream. He'd built a couple of Nissan King Cabs in the past, but really wanted something out of the norm for himself.
To do this, he bought a new bone-stock '00 Chevy S-10 from the dealer's showroom. He soon found himself making plans to subtly change his new truck until it was a shining example of what the previous two trucks had taught him.

One of the first things Alan's truck must've possessed to even be considered his own was a kickass stereo system. He couldn't be bothered with just a couple of subs and a typical setup of midrange speakers running on some measly underpowered amplifiers. Alan went for it, packing a ton of mobile-audio gear into the cab of his S-10. Now when you hear him coming, it's really from a mile away. This truck pumps out so much power, we're sure the 6,000 watts could power Alan's hometown of Smyrna, Tennessee, on days the Nissan factory isn't in operation.
Alan went through a number of different setups for his S-10 before finding the right people to do the right work and make his truck ride the way he wanted with just the right setup. Luckily, he happened upon Josh Long at Wicked Kustoms, who hooked up the front suspension. Using Firestone airbags and all the tricks of the trade Josh is famous for, the S-10's front suspension was put together using two different-size valves, allowing it to slam down quickly and air up at a more controlled rate. In the rear, Alan relied on his friend Kaze Williams, who installed a Pete & Jake's triangulated four-link to allow free movement of the rearend with Firestone airbags.
Now that the truck is show-ready, we're sure Alan will be all over the East Coast, shooting his way through the packs of custom trucks to gather his fair share of trophies. While we're not 100 percent sure he's done with the truck, this is one super-clean example of a Tennessee-style mini-truck, whose pride-filled owner looks like a cop searching for a donut on vacation. You'll find him patrolling the next event you attend near Smyrna.

After covering Showfest in Greenville, Mississippi, this year, we left the show area and headed to a remote location to shoot truck features. A guy who was beyond hilarious owned one of the last trucks we drummed up to shoot before leaving the show. Due to his hilarious personality and likeness to Officer Rodney Farva from the movie Supertroopers, Alan Jackson got a new nickname at Showfest. Now, we just call him Farva.
