In the custom auto world, SEMA is THE place to be to see the latest builds, examine the newest parts, and walk the most you have all year long. With three huge halls packed to the walls at the Las Vegas, NV Convention Center with booth after booth and cars and trucks lined up as far as the eye can see, it’s enough to have most people asking where the Segway rental desk is.

While there were a handful of slick traditional minitrucks, we couldn’t help but gaze in wonderment at the “different” stuff on display. Mobsteel’s flattened out FedEx delivery truck was amazing to see in person, as was the N.E.M.O. (New Evolution Military Ordnance) truck. In general, there was more van and alternative type trucks to look at, and it was a real treat.

But after all the walking, and settling for overpriced fast food and beer at the convention center, Friday is the day to sit back (if you can find somewhere to sit) and watch the display vehicles do a victory lap out to the streets -- it’s a sight to see. All different walks of autos make their way through the lanes, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a truck or van guy, or a muscle car gear head, this is the ultimate equalizing moment. Until next year!
