What can we say about this last year? The year 2007 turned out to be amazing for all things Mini Truckin'. As we've been gearing up for our 20th anniversary in 2008, it would have been easy to let 2007 be just another year, but that's not how we roll. We wanted to bring you another action-packed year, so we made sure every single issue was chock-full of the coolest minis from all around the world. As the magazine has grown, so has the staff. You might recognize a few new names, as well as many of the same cats who have been supporting us for years. I want to give a special thanks to our dedicated staff as they continue to bring us the best of what's out there. This year we brought you something new and different with every issue. From old-skool trucks that have never graced a cover before, such as Lukasz's Chevy Luv and Scott's Datsun NL320, to awesome group shots of the DIB Shop cover and the Texas Special, which featured the Ekstensive Tacoma and Blown Blazer, it's been an amazing year.
And as our 5th Annual Year End Awards will attest to, minitruckers don't sleep. This year's trophies were built by www.airbagit.com and feature one-off steering wheels as the specialty awards, simply to give the winners a memento of our appreciation and congratulations on their achievements. A big congrats to each who is mentioned, as you truly made our year memorable

The show vote is always a tough one, because personal preference plays a big part. Some people like huge shows with the most vehicles and think that makes a good show. Meanwhile, others prefer friends, camping, and some of the highest-quality trucks around, even if the show's only a few hundred entries. Well, I like both for different reasons, but this year happens to hold special significance for me, as "The Granddaddy" will be held one last time and then gone forever. That's right, Resolutions has been going for 32 years, and Bob Hase and the Sunset crew have decided to throw the final farewell to send Reso off with a bang. People are coming from all over the world for their last chance at being a part of truck-run history.
When I began going to Reso back in 1998, this show was considered a hardcore show, where all of the down minitruckers would attend-no matter what the weather. Back East, many people deal with wind, rain, and snow all the time, but we SoCalians aren't very weather friendly. It became known that if you missed Reso, then you were a wuss, who was trying to avoid the winter weather. Well, let me tell you, whoever misses Resolutions No. 32 will be missing out on some of the greatest memories of their lives. It will be the Severed Ties 15th Anniversary, as well as the final Farewell to The Granddaddy, so my vote definitely goes to Resolutions. See you there!

This award, without a doubt, should go to Resolutions No. 32 for giving me some of the best memories of my life. For me, I never gave a crap about New Year's celebrations; it was always about going to a show and hanging out with my best friends from all over the country who had ventured into the cold nights of winter in Southern California. All year long I would only wait for the moment when it was time to pack up and head off to the desert. This being the last Reso made it really hard for me, because I knew I would miss this event after attending every show for 11 years. So, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bob Hase and the rest of the Sunset crew for a job well done and for giving me so many memories and a chance to be a part of Resolutions.

What makes a minitruck event a contender for Show of the Year? Is it the number of vehicles? The show quality? The wild after-party? These were all things I had been thinking of before I singled one particular show out for my vote. The show I'm singling out this year is Resolutions. Not only does it have the show quality and crazy parties, it's been around for 32 years. To me, that's crazy! That's seven years older than me! Knowing that the baddest show in the nation has lasted this long, yet never really got the recognition it deserved, it was time to show Reso a little love for the 2007 year. Especially since this will be it's last.

This one was probably one of the hardest for me to choose. Even though I wanted to vote for my own show, Scrapin' the Smokies, that is something that I won't do. I travel all over the East Coast covering events and I get to see a wide variety of shows. This year, the one that stood out for me was Scr8pfest, which was hosted by Pebble Pushers and held in Concord, North Carolina. I've been to this show since the first year, and this year they celebrated their 10th annual event. The PP guys always make sure everyone has something to do throughout the weekend, and they were probably one of the first to host a full-out dragging contest. It was a great show and it's thrown by great people.
