This Tacoma was definitely the talk of the show.
There was much to be expected from the 30th anniversary of Resolutions in Blythe, CA, at the Colorado River Fairgrounds on December 30th through January 1st. Much to our delight, this year's show dwarfed last year's attempt and brought out some sick show vehicles and a plethora of camping drunks. The weather was better than expected, which has plagued Reso in years past, and the available camping area was expanded for the overflow. This was good news for mini-truckers that made sacrifices to come--especially the Mini Truck Cartel East to West Cruise.
Auto Core is still wowing onlookers with its insane Colorado.
The campgrounds on the first night were crawling with avid mini-truckers desperate to make their mark for the year so as to claim a resolution the next day. West Coast mini-truckers know how to hold it down, as a fully functional mobile hot tub, a huge projector, and DJ systems galore were present at random camps. The dance floor and main stage were held down by Madhouse FX, and people put their best dance moves forward trying to keep up with Joey from FFF.
We're told that Saturday morning started bright and early for the showgoers, who set up smack-dab in the middle of the racetrack. A full metal Tacoma was brought out by Robert Lee Alcorn and featured some of the sicker mods of late as well as a few new ones to dazzle the crowds of people that swallowed its perimeter. Ryan Gibson's Frontier was on display to let mini-truckers get a finished view before we took off our lens cap to show you its cover quality.
Resolutions' special feel has more to do with just new beginnings. It's also a tribute to a few fallen mini-truckers. Memorial awards such as the Brian Richards Best of Show trophy, the Aaron Strange Participation award, and the Heather Hokinson Best Pic award are all a remembrance of how life can be tragically cut short, even in the life of a mini-trucker.
