The Northwest has long been thought of as the underdog in the mini-truck scene. However, these past few years they have made a huge push with bigger shows and better rides that could rival any truck community. Since the scene has blown up these past couple of years up north, the Sittin' Pretti crew knew they had to be on their feet because the show attendance had grown for their Seattle show, Summer Slam, from over 150 vehicles in '04 to almost 300 vehicles in one year!
Summer Slam is 90 percent mini-trucks, and as such, it has a huge appeal to the mini-truck crowd with a laid-back, hospitable atmosphere. The family allure of a relaxing one-day show keeps the crowds coming all day long. The Sittin' Pretti crew also knows what it takes to keep the show goers entertained, so they have a variety of cool games and contests including the infamous mini-truckers scavenger hunt where the DJ will announce an item (for example, a Vanilla Ice CD) and the first person to run up to the booth with the item gets the prize. This year there were also all kinds of giveaways from many great sponsors including: Toyo Tires, Rozzi Wheels, Les Schwab Tire Centers, Alba Wheels, Complete Wheel Source, If Customs, JMI Motorsports, Car Nutz, Farside Customz, The Drop Shop, Advanced Auto Design, Car Toys, NW Creative Customs, Dent Wizard, and many others.
This year the Sittin' Pretti crew stepped it up again and went all out enlisting the help of Kaik Products for some one-of-a-kind trophies. This is always a big hit for all of the dedicated show participants. Best of Show Truck went to our May '03 cover truck, Devin "I Love Pink" Morgan's Mazberry Delight '90 Mazda B2200.
Sittin Pretti' would like to thank all of its sponsors, especially The Rock Wood Fired Pizza and the rest of the companies that continue to help keep the scene growing in the Northwest. Look for next year to be even bigger and better, and make sure to join us at Cascade High School on August 27, 2005. For more information, check out www.sittinpretti.com or call (360) 202-1119.
