The weekend of October 9-11 was a windy one in La Marque, Texas, where this year's Battle Drag took place. Three days full of high-quality rides and cool people to hang out with made it more than bearable however.
With more than 500 vehicles and thousands of spectators, Battle Drag was bigger and badder this time around. Once again, Edward "Sideshow" Torres and the Damage Inc. crew planned a badass time for everyone. We went out Saturday right at the end of the day for a little draggin', because without some good draggin' you couldn't call it Battle Drag. Unfortunately, the orange Blazer from Freaks ended up getting the short end of the La Marque Police law book stick. That wasn't the only fatality of the drag session: A clean Hardbody ended up draggin' a hole into its freshly filled gas tank. Luckily, the truck and owner made it back to the show grounds safely.
Sunday was a slightly gloomy day with the occasional sprinkle, but everyone made sure to stick around and line up for the awards. Sideshow did it up again with badass custom skateboard decks to the top 75. The highly sought-after one-off custom-painted guitars were awarded to the six Best Ofs, including Under-construction, Best Truck, Car, and Paint awards.
Be on the lookout next year, as the crew has already stated it will be bigger and better. Check on DamageINCclub.com and HtownShowScene.com for the latest updates. See y'all in October.
