In my thirteen years of covering shows for this mag, I have come to realize there is no other show like Spring Fling. Being located at Frank Brown Park in gorgeous Panama City Beach, Florida, and taking place in the middle of spring break, there's really nothing that can compare to it. You have white, sandy beaches, great weather, a spacious show area, and the awesome Vital Signs crew. It's what starts the show season for me every year and I wouldn't miss it for the world.
The streets were filled with people from all over the country celebrating spring break but even the most diehard partier seemed to wind down at the show. The Wicked Wheel was the site of the show's after-party location, and if you've never visited this place, you are truly missing out. The automotive-themed bar and grill has it all from motorcycle barstools to a complete hotrod hanging on the wall. With a full gut and a fresh beverage refill, it was time to step outside where crowds of folks were hanging out while The Psycho DeVilles were on stage dishing out some awesome rockabilly tunes.
The rain managed to move in on the show Sunday, but held off just long enough for the VS gang to put on some great club games as well as the world-famous Miss Spring Fling bikini contest. For details on how you can get in on Spring Fling 2014, check out facebook.com/springflingcarshow.
