The week leading up to Showfest last year was filled with worry and concern as the Mississippi River flooded over, causing the event's hosts to move the entire show to the driest spot in Tunica they could find. As a result, a large number of potential showgoers and registered vehicles stayed home due to the unpredictable weather. The show went on as scheduled and ended up claiming Mini Truckin's 2011 Show of the Year honors.

The dedication the Assorted Minis crew showed then, and in years prior in Greenville, has not wavered. Not one bit. This year, Showfest moved back to its new official home at Sam's Town hotel and casino, and people and trucks alike from every corner of the country were in attendance for the homecoming event. A group of fresh debuting minis soaked up the crowd's attention, as did past and upcoming MT cover and feature trucks. This show was definitely no joke.

And as a side attraction, the fine ladies and gentlemen of Severed Ties celebrated their 20th anniversary with their own private catered dinner. A big round of congratulations goes out to the club on their milestone achievement.

And the biggest selling point this show has to offer besides being a great in between meeting point for some of the coolest rides and people out there? A/C-cooled hotel rooms, two-story casino, buffet, and ice-cold beer are just steps from the showground. Those are little slices of luxury that are just tough to beat.

Bottom line, Showfest defended its show of the year title like a true reigning champ. With a pool of contenders already proving their strength in the first half of the year, it will be interesting to see who steps up.
