Scrapin' the Coast gets better and better every year with its 7th year now completed. This beachfront show has been at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum located in Biloxi, Mississippi for the last 6 years.
Thousands of people arrived on Friday and packed all of the hotels along Beach Blvd. Treasure Bay Casino was once again the host hotel and a great central location to be at for all of the nightly festivities. On Saturday the show grounds opened at 8 a.m. and filled up quickly by 11 a.m. with over 2,300 quality rides and more than 14,000 spectators. The temperature climbed to the 100-degree mark but no one seemed to notice because everyone was having such a great time. After the show closed on Saturday, everyone started gearing up for an eventful night. There is always something to do on Saturday night after the show. Some people headed down to the racetrack to watch the races and enjoy the after party. Some chose to party in the casinos and lose their money. But most people lined the street to watch the draggin' and cruisin' down Beach Blvd. There were crowds everywhere hanging out and having a good time. Sunday the show grounds were just as packed as Saturday because this isn't a show where people head home early. At the end of the day, Greg Miller and his crew gave out 350 awards to participants and 8 Best of Show awards. Next year's show is already set for June 24-27 and will be bigger and better than with even more space set aside. Mark your calendars now; you don't want to miss next year's four-day bash.
