2008 Relaxed Atmosphere All Star Event - Custom Truck Show

If you've never been to Millington, Tennessee, for the Relaxed Atmosphere's All Star Event then you better plan to go next year. Let us clue you in to what you're missing out on.

Millington is home to one of the finest minitruck shows, and each year hundreds of minitruckers head to this small town just outside Memphis in search of fun. They find all the fun they can handle in the form of club games, draggin' contest, and hours of camaraderie. Held on the grounds of U.S.A. Stadium this past Labor Day weekend, the All Star Event attracted more than 300 of the nation's top ground-pounding minis and customs.

There were a ton of quality rides in attendance from clubs such as Acrophobia, No Regrets, Negative Camber, and Severed Ties to name a few. Walking down row after row of minis, it became apparent that this show was full of topnotch minitrucks. We couldn't even keep count of the trucks that have been featured. More than 30 tents were pitched along the perimeter of the show grounds with vendors selling all their latest wares. Looking at top-quality rides all day long is thirsty work, but lucky for us there was no shortage of lemonade and hot dogs during the show.

After the show wrapped up Saturday evening, everyone headed back to the hotels and kept the party going on the strip. There was draggin' and cruisin' between hotels all night long. It brought a tear to our eyes, as it brought back memories of Greenville. It was a beautiful sight. Even the police were super cool and wanted to make sure the fun could continue. As long as nothing happened and nobody got stupid, we were able to party until the wee hours of the morning. It was definitely good times.

Relaxed Atmosphere in association with Kinetik Power Cells hit a home run with this years event growing over a 25 percent increase in spectators as well as show vehicles. The All Star Event is home to some of the hottest show vehicles with tons of feature and cover trucks in attendance, and of course the support of all the major truck clubs in the country. This year brought out the legendary, Bob Hase of Sunset and Reso, with some of his crew as well as the crew from Extensive Metal Works and of course the RA family from as far out as the US Virgin Islands, Japan, and California. This years drag contest had to be the biggest array of sparks going for hours with over 50 entrants ready to lay it out and rail it All Star style. The crowds enjoyed all the activities and the booths with the industries best aftermarket goodies, apparel, music and of course, those zany DVDs we all love.

		Keith Steen with the help of Brian "Lost Cause", worked night and day for a couple weeks, to get his Colorado done in time for the show and his photo shoot with MT Mag.
		One of the anticipated weekend events was the bed build-off between Lil Shop of Horrors and Innovative Customs. All weekend spectators were asked to vote on which bed was better. When it came time to tally the votes, problems with the voting in Florida was an issue so it was called a tie
Alvin Lawrence traveled from the US Virgin Islands to show off this sick, Syclone powered second gen S-10.
Jamie Tiffany's Dodge D-50 is a truck that will be remembered for many years to come.
Jim Seat's freshly refinished Ranger caught a lot of attention with its Slap Yo' Mama Red paintjob.
The dunk tank was definitely a quick way to cool off. Although we heard that Fester from RA Florida was in it for a while and there was no conformation that chlorine was used after.	Zack Quatrevingt's Bayou Dawg is always an attention getter with 22-inch wheels stuffed under the fenders. But don't think it doesn't drag; he was out railing the hell out of it in the drag contest.	Lil Shop of Horrors made sure they were well prepared for the 5,300 spectators that attended.
