With the current economy, charities are also finding it harder to bring in donations no matter how good the cause may be.
That's why it's great to see the custom car and truck community doing their part to help out. Oaktown Trucks hosted it's 4th Annual Custom Rides for Saving Lives show in Lake Orion, Michigan. Participants came from all over Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and even Canada to hang with fellow custom truck fans and help support The American Cancer Society.
Along with the many fun events taking place, there was an all-day auction that was reason enough to visit the show. Oaktown Trucks gets some great donations to the auction each year and this year was the best by far. A huge list of great companies donated items to the auction and to the trophy table, including; Air Lift, AVS, Air-Zenith, Second Skin Audio, Street Legal Customs, Kris Dye Fabrication, PMA Motorsports, Victory Graphix, Drop 'Em Wear?, Barely Legal Fabrication, Meguiar's, AirRideFittings.com, Dubb Motorsports, Clark Customs, Chrome Reflections, Stoner Car Care, Faygo, and Dale Adams Enterprises. Many people walked away with some great deals on amazing stuff and got to help a great cause at the same time.
With the help of the great sponsors and supporters from the custom car and truck scene, Oaktown Trucks raised more than $3,500 for the American Cancer Society topping last year's donation by $1000. The members of Oaktown Trucks would like to thank all of the great sponsors, helpers, and participants that make the trip each year to help this great cause. They're currently making plans for the fifth annual show and hope to see you all there in '09.
