What do minitruckers do during the winter? Some rest up, or spend endless nights in the garage working on rides for the next season, and some, well they bowl! You read that correctly, they bowl.

Every winter for the past nine years, Jeff King and the AcrophobiA family have hosted the East Coast Bowling Nationals. Held at Chacko's Bowling Lanes in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. This event isn't a car show (since usually this time of year, there is plenty of snow on the ground). Rather, it's more like a family get-together. Clubs from all over the country gathered to compete for the awesome awards, which were custom bowling pins, courtesy of Get Stroked (viewable at getstroked.com), that were offered to the lucky winners.

This was one of the greatest ideas we have ever encountered to shake those winter blues and hang out with some buddies. Mark your calendar for next year's event, and don't miss it. It's definitely the best time you'll have without your ride, we promise!

The Show Lowdown
Name:

9th Annual East Coast Bowling Nationals
Location:
Chacko's Bowling Lanes, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
Date:
February 9, 2008
Total in attendance: Packed, ass to elbow

Fast 411:
* This was the ninth year for ECBN
* The only place you can get a trophy for being the worst female and the worst male bowler! And, with all the beer at this event ... it was a close call for many.
* The longest distance award went to Matt "Shagwell" Baker again. He came all the way from California and we're starting to think that he only comes for that bowling pin.
* The guys at Get Stroked provided the awesome, and very sought-after bowling pin awards each year for this event.

Vendors:
Grant Kustoms, Draggin' Thru Video, Drop 'Em Wear? (who also did the killer event T-shirts again this year!) and Get Stroked.
