The month of March rolls around and all over the country the garage doors of die-hard mini-truckers begin to open, exposing the fruits of months and months of labor. Gleaming paint, fender-tucked chrome and billet, and the beautiful sound of air moving through air lines to raise outrageously designed suspensions can only add up to one thing: the beginning of the 2005 show season. This also means a trip to Panama City Beach, Florida, for Spring Fling 2005, hosted by Vital Signs Street Designs.
Over the years, this show has been a much-anticipated venue for everyone in the Southeast involved in the lifestyle, and this year was even better than anyone anticipated. After having to deal with super-strict new laws enacted to help calm down the mass of spring-breakers that come into the state every year, Vital Signs managed to pull off the biggest and best show in its history. More than 500 vehicles of some of the best quality the country has to offer were entered into this year's event, keeping the thousands of spectators busy making sure they glimpsed every detail, no matter how subtle.
Vendor's alley was, of course, rockin' again, with names such as Domination the Video, Drop 'Em Wear?, and Streetglow selling their stock quicker than they could pull it out of the boxes. Vital Signs also kept the crowds going with a charity auction, selling parts donated by some of the vendors and sponsors. The crew managed to pull off the ever-popular bikini contest as well, even while the watchful eyes of the local police department hovered around to make sure that none of the lovely ladies "got out of hand."
This year's show was extraordinary. Doug and all of the Vital Signs crew put on an excellent event despite a few minor complications. The crew would like to thank all of the sponsors, vendors, and everyone who came out for helping make this year's show possible.
