The 2nd Annual KRZ Customs River Run was held at the Riverland Resort just south of Fresno, California, during the last weekend in July. We rolled in Friday, and the weather was already looking perfect for a weekend at the river. Soon after we parked, we did what any mini-truckers would do - cracked open a few cold ones, jumped into our shorts, and charged the river. The only problem with this plan was that the camp setup was left until late night. Oh, well. We managed to figure it out.
The parties lasted all night long, where camps such as Twisted Images' had a giant hot tub and music bumping for everybody to dance and dip to 'til the sun began to creep in. That was the signal for the start of Saturday and roll-in for the show. The showgrounds quickly filled with all the showgoers and partiers from the previous night. After the show was underway, we walked up and down the rows, checking out the huge mini-truck turnout for this second-year show. Saturday afternoon came quickly, and people began to rush the stage, signaling the start of the bikini contest. The lady who impressed the crowd and judges the most took home $300, while Second Place won $200.
With live bands, an on-site hotel, the river, and tons of cool clubs to hang out with, this show was off the hook. After the show, Saturday night was a calmer version of Friday, but there was still just as much going on. Getting to see out-of-town friends makes runs like this well worth the trip. Special thanks go to all the show's sponsors, including KP Components, Line-X, Kuts-R-Us, Devious Customs, Ludikrs Kustomz, Mac's Springs, and Grant Kustomz.
